Apologies for the off topic comment but the publication of the second poem caught my attention: "As above so below". What was it? A magazine? The title is an hermitic principle.
Mental illness is hard to live with, hard for the person and for family and friends. There is still stigma, we even call it ‘mental health challenges ‘ instead of being honest and calling it mental illness. Your poetry is brave, sad and evocative. And the mountains will continue to weep. All we can do is love, and love some more.
It is all we can do. It’s so easy to be frightened by mental illness as if in being close to it we might ourselves succumb. So much fear of being ostracized, and cast out. It’s easy to forget in distancing ourselves we are making that a reality for others.
beautiful, powerful words, Susannah, thank you for sharing them (and the stories and people behind them) x

Beautifully done and so hard to experience that many suicides. I'm still thinking of tumescent acorns though.
Probably the best part to think of tbh!!!
Heartbreakingly beautiful, Susannah. Sitting quietly alongside, side-hugs. xo
